Reviewing objects

After clicking NEXT on the Define Object Details page, the Review Objects page is displayed. This page shows the list of objects to be registered in Data Catalog.

The page includes the list of all object names, including the object name prefix, if specified in the previous step. Additionally, the selected properties for the additional metadata properties are displayed.

  1. Select how to handle the case where the name of an object to register is already taken by another object in Data Catalog.

    Select one of these options:

    • Skip metadata generation

This is the default selection. Any objects with duplicate names are skipped. No new metadata is registered.

    • Require confirmation to proceed

You can review the list of objects with duplicate names and determine how to proceed.

    • Overwrite existing metadata

Object metadata for any existing objects with duplicate names is overwritten.

Note: Only objects of type JSON are overwritten. If the name already exists for an ANY, DSV, or BOD object, then the user is given the option to select one of these actions:
      • Rename the new object.
      • Skip metadata generation for the object.
  2. Click GENERATE METADATA to start the metadata generation process.
    See Summary.
