Receiving emails for exceptions

You can configure ION to send an email in specific exception situations.

  1. Select Configuration > Error reporting.
  2. Select one of these check boxes when an email must be sent:
    An Error BOD Occurs:
You want to receive an email if an Error Message was created, either by one of the connection points or by the ION Service.
Message delivery is retried for more than … minutes:
You want to receive an email if a message could not be delivered because of a connection failure. When using this option, specify the number of minutes after which an email must be sent. ION automatically keeps retrying.
A connection points "Incoming pending messages" queue reaches ... BODs:
You want to receive an email if the internal pending messages queue of any connection point contains more than the defined number of messages. This can be an indication that something is wrong with the processing of messages. When using this option, specify the number of BODs the queue minimally must contain before an email is sent. ION sends an additional email if the queue contains less than 90% of the defined number of BODs.
A document is published having no route defined:
You want to receive an email if a message is published by a connection point, but there is no place to send this document to. In other words, no document flow is defined for this BOD, and no event monitor or workflow activation policy is active for this document.
  3. Select the email address of the person who must receive the emails. To specify several email addresses, use a semicolon or a comma separator.
Note: ION Service email settings must be configured to send emails
Go to Configuration > ION Service to configure the SMTP server and the 'from' email address. If no SMTP server is defined, or the SMTP server is incorrect or unavailable, no email is sent.
