Working with dynamic pages
For administrators and content administrators, dynamic pages enable you to use a single page for a large number of users. The page format and content, however, can vary depending on which users are viewing it. For example, the title, page color, and set of widgets may differ depending on the user.
If you are a user with the HOMEPAGES-ContentSupport role, you can preview the dynamic page as another user, but you cannot change the page.
A dynamic page uses the security policies, managed within Homepages administration. The security policy is a set of rules that define a subset of users, based on:
- IFS role
- IFS distribution group
- Attribute
Only administrators can create and edit the security policies. If you are a content administrator, you can only view the policies and select them to assign them to a dynamic page.
If you are a user with the HOMEPAGES-ContentSupport role, you also can view and test the security policies.
The dynamic page consists of a header and a number of components:
- The header includes the page title and color.
- A component is equivalent to a widget and may contain different types of content, for example: links, images, user information.
You can configure the dynamic page to display subset of the content, based on attributes, roles, and groups for the current user, as defined within the security policy. The content can be filtered by security policy at the component level and within the component.
