Create a new HTTPS identity with a Grid-signed certificate

  1. Start the Grid Management Pages and log on as a member of the grid-admin role.
  2. Click on Security in the top menu.
  3. Click on the Identities tab.
  4. Click on the Add New link.
  5. Specify a new name for the HTTPS identity. The name must be unique.
  6. Click on Create Grid Signed Certificate.
  7. Specify the Host FQDN. If the Identity is to be used on multiple hosts add the other hosts as Alternate Names in step 9. The other Relative Distinguished Name parameters (OU, O, L, ST and C) are optional.
  8. Select the expiration date of the certificate.
  9. If required, add alternate names here. Those are other names that the web server may present itself as. For example if the router is accessed using both FQDN and IP address, the IP address should be added here. Click the plus sign to add the alternate name.

For a multi-host HTTPS identity add all hosts here or add a wild-card entry if all hosts are on the same domain. For example if the hosts FQDNs are like host-x.mydomain.com it is possible to add *.mydomain.com in order for this certificate to be valid for all hosts in that domain.

  10. Click on the Create button.
