Deleting archived process data

To delete data about archived monitors, activation policies, alarm templates, and workflows use the Monitors & Workflows > Archive pages. To delete the data, you must have the "All" permission for these pages:

  • Archived Monitors
  • Archived Activation Policies
  • Archived Workflows
  • Archived Alarm Templates
  • Archived Activities
Note: You cannot delete activities that were created by Workflows or Monitors, to delete such activities you must delete a parent entity.

When you delete an archived object, the related data that is associated with the object is deleted.

This table shows, per object type, the associated data that is deleted when you delete an archived object:

Archived object type Associated data that is deleted
Monitor
  • The archived data about alerts the monitor has generated
  • Logged trigger data
Activation policy
  • The archived data about started workflow instances, generated tasks, and notifications
  • Logged trigger data
Workflow definition The archived data about its workflow instances, generated tasks, and notifications.
Alarm Templates
  • The data about generated alerts
  • The data about alarms created based on the template
  • Logged trigger data

Deleting data is irreversible. Each delete action is queued for execution and is logged in the Monitors & Workflows > Archive > Delete Logs page. As long as the delete action is not finished, the delete log entry has the In Progress status. After it is completed, the status is displayed as Done.

We recommend that you generate an audit report for the archived activities before deleting their sources.

See "Process transactional data management"

When you drill through from other pages, such as OneView, towards archived data that has been deleted, a message is displayed. This message indicates that the information was not found.
