Supported languages

ION Scripting supports the use of libraries and writing script code in Python 3.9.

Note: Existing scripts that were approved before version 2023.04 continue to run on Python 3.7. New scripts and new versions of existing scripts will run on Python 3.9.

We recommend that libraries and scripts are written and designed to work with the specified Python version. Scripts that are developed in earlier versions prior to Python 3, such as Python 2.7, are not supported.
