Sending messages from the application to ION

This section outlines the procedures for integrating an application with ION using API Gateway and IMS connection points.

First, an authorized app of the Backend Service type is added in API Gateway to represent the client application. Credentials for this authorized app are then downloaded by creating a service account, without the need for specifying a user name, since ION does not authenticate requests based on user authorizations. The authorized app credential file is required for subsequent application configuration.

Next, a unidirectional IMS connection point is established in ION, enabling the application to send messages to ION. The section details navigating to Connect > Connection Points within ION to create and manage this connection.
