Understanding permissions for widgets
An Infor-SystemAdministrator, MingleAdministrator or Portal-ContentAdministrator can set permissions for standard widgets and published widgets.
These are the access levels:
Access Level | Description |
---|---|
Configure | The user can view the widget and open the widget configuration. This is the
highest access level. Note: A published widget
may have settings disabled, preventing the user from accessing the configuration
menu.
|
View | The user can view the widget on a page but cannot configure the widget. This is
the second high access level. Note: For widgets that require
configuration, give the user the Configure access level.
|
Disabled | The widget is completely disabled and not available in the Widget Catalog. If a
standard widget is disabled, all published widgets based on that widget are also
disabled. This is the lowest access level. Note: For a published
widget, the widget owner, content administrators, and administrators can always find
the widget in the Widget Catalog, and they are allowed to show and edit the widget,
even if it is disabled for everyone.

If the user is assigned to more than one access level, the user will obtain the highest access permission level set.
- When Everyone is set to Configure, all other settings will be ignored since it is the highest access level.
- When Everyone is set to View, you can add users or security roles to have the Configure access level. All other users will only have access to view the widget.
- When Everyone is set to Disabled, you can add users or security roles to have either the Configure or View access level. All other users will not have access to the widget.
