Announcements

Announcements keep users informed about upcoming events or important notifications. They may include HR information or company news.

Announcements are displayed in the top bar widget, banner widget, and regular announcements widget on a workspace. Critical announcements are displayed in a modal dialog box and must be read before users can close the dialog box.

You can schedule announcements for specific dates, intervals, or set to recur weekly, monthly, or yearly.

To create, see, or update existing announcements an administrator can visit the Announcements page.

Permissions

Access to an announcement can be limited by security policies that are managed within Infor OS Portal administration. The security policy outlines rules for a specific group of users based on these attributes:

Their IFS security roles
User properties
User properties can be configured in OS > Security > Metadata > User Properties.

All users can view announcements to which they have access. However, only users with these security roles can create and configure announcements:

PORTAL-ContentAdministrator
MingleAdministrator
Infor-SystemAdministrator

Limitations

Announcements are displayed in every workspace that has the top bar, regular or banner announcement widget enabled. You cannot select which workspaces show the announcement and which workspaces do not.
