Data security scope
Data security is applicable when users view, manage, extract, and query data in
Data Lake either from within an application or through
APIs.
Currently, data security is not applicable for data ingestion.
Data Fabric components that integrate with Data Lake
Data Fabric components that integrate with Data Lake enforce data security only when they interact with Data Lake data.
This table shows Data Fabric components that integrate with Data Lake:
Data Fabric component | Description |
---|---|
Metagraphs | Data security applies only when you preview a data set or publish a view to Data Lake. Permissions for objects and properties that are used in the data set must be defined. |
Pipelines | Data security is not enforced. You can model and run Stream Pipelines without any data security permissions. |
ETL Client | Data security is enforced. Permissions must be defined for objects that are retrieved from Data Lake. |
Infor applications that integrate with Data Lake
Enabled data security may not affect an application for which integration with Data Lake does not run on behalf of a specific IFS user. For example, ION's Data Lake and AnySQL connectors, or an application's scheduled data extractions from Data Lake.
For details on the data security adoption, see Knowledge Base Article 3533915 in ServiceNow.
