Updating data security

Note: The DATAFABRIC-SuperAdmin role has full access to all data that is stored in Data Lake. This role's data security configuration cannot be updated.

On the Data Security tab, all Data Lake objects are listed by object name in an alphabetical order. To change this order, click Sort and arrange the list as required. The selected sort order is valid only for the selected security profile.

You can search for objects by name and filter objects by type. Click the Search or Filter icons, respectively, and specify the required criteria. You can close single filter options or you can clear all filters by clicking Clear all. The search and filter results are always cleared when you select a different security role.

  1. Select Security.
  2. In the Security Roles panel, click the security role for which to update the security profile.
  3. Click the Data Security tab.
  4. Click the object switch to turn Object access on or off. If an object is a newline-delimited JSON or DSV object, click the object card to expand it and perform these steps to define access at the property level:
    1. Click the Selected properties only switch to turn it on.

Object access changes to Property access.

    2. Select only the properties to which the role must have access.
Note: You can select all objects from the list with one click to manage access to them. To avoid changing access to all objects in the tenant, we recommend that you use the multi-select option only when you use a filter. To use the multi-select option, perform these steps:
    1. Click the Select icon in the toolbar.
    2. Click the Click the switch to toggle all objects in the list switch to turn the switches of all listed objects on.

For objects for which the switches were previously turned on with the Property access level, no changes to the data security configuration are made. For objects for which the switches were previously turned off, the Object access is granted. To remove access to all listed objects, click the Click the switch to toggle all objects in the list switch to turn it off.

  5. Click Save.
