How to use the Data Fabric application
Security
Access to Data Fabric is managed through the Security application in Infor OS Portal. Before a user can access Data Fabric, they must meet these criteria:
- They must be configured as a user in Security.
- At least one security role applicable to Data Fabric must be assigned to that user.
Infor delivers these standard security roles for Data Fabric:
- DATAFABRIC-SuperAdmin
This role grants you full access to all pages in Data Fabric and full object access to all data in Data Lake.
- DATAFABRIC-User
This role grants you access to the Data Fabric Home and About Data Fabric pages.
Additionally, the InforSystemAdministrator and MingleAdministrator Infor security roles have access to Data Fabric.
You can grant access to Data Fabric to additional Infor security roles on the Data Fabric Security page. For more information, see "Security".
Navigating to Data Fabric
If you have a Data Fabric user role, then you can access Data Fabric from Infor OS Portal.
In Data Fabric, you can see only data that belongs to the current tenant.

The Data Fabric homepage provides quick links to application features and documentation references.
These quick links are available:

With this link, you are directed to Atlas to explore your data objects in Data Lake.

- Query the Data Lake

With this link, you are directed to Compass to query your data objects stored in Data Lake.

- Purge data

With this link, you are directed to the Purge page to filter for and delete data objects that are no longer required from Data Lake.
The homepage also includes direct links to sections of theInfor Data Fabric User Guide that describe commonly used features in the Data Fabric components. These links include an overview of Data Fabric, and introduction to Data Lake Schemas, Compass JDBC configuration, and Compass SQL references.
