Configuring the mode
On the Mode Configuration panel, you can migrate data objects from using the transactional mode to the analytical mode. The analytical mode is optimal for initial loads and scenarios in which tables are queried infrequently and may result in faster query processing workloads.
The analytical mode is also used for data deduplication. When queries are run in the analytical mode, data is deduplicated in Compass based on the compositional uniqueness of the primary key and variation ID. In Compass, only one record that reflects a specific variation ID value associated with a primary key is presented. You can still use Infor functions to present multiple records for a specific primary key.
The Mode Configuration panel contains these columns:
- Object Name
A list of objects that are registered in Data Catalog and are available for querying in Compass.
- Use Analytical Mode
You can use the switch to select which mode to use with an object when you submit a query or statement.
By default, the switch is off and the transactional mode is used for all objects. If you turn the switch on, then the queries are run in the analytical mode.
- Active Mode
Shows the mode that is currently used for each object.
- Status
Shows the migration status for each object.
