How to search for notifications

To find a notification, you can search for one of its keywords or use a filter. You can sort your results by the creation date, urgency, or due date.

Searching for notifications

You can't use an advanced filter and search box simultaneously. Searching through the search box clears the applied advanced filter.
  1. Open Notification Center.
  2. Click the search box and specify the notification's keyword.
The keyword must exactly match a fragment of the notification such as its header, parameter, tag, or category. The search is not case-sensitive.

Example: Results for requisition approval will include notifications with requisition APPROVAL and requisition approvals. Notifications with variations such as requisition missing approval or partial matches (requisition without approval) will be excluded.

Alternatively, you can select one of the last five searches that you did. The search is performed according to the active quick filter: All, Tasks, Alerts, or Messages. The active quick filter is gray.

  3. Confirm your entry.
You confirm your entry in two ways:
    • Press Enter.

The search is performed according to the active quick filter: All, Tasks, Alerts, or Messages.

    • Click a suggestion from the menu list.

Suggestions with the notification type icon run a search only for certain notification types. The option with no icon runs search according to the active quick filter. The active quick filter is gray.

  4. Optionally, sort the results or use a quick filter.

Filtering notifications

You can use quick filters or advanced filters to find specific notifications.

You can't use advanced filters and the search box simultaneously. Applying an advanced filter clears results from searching through the search box.

Using quick filters

  1. Open Notification Center.
  2. Select a filter option below the search box.
You can select one of these options:
    • All
    • Tasks
    • Alerts
    • Messages

Only one filter can be active at a time.

  3. Optionally, sort the results.

Using advanced filters

You can apply an advanced filter to find notifications by their other elements than only their keyword or type.
  1. Open Notification Center.
  2. Click the Filter icon.
If you have no saved filters, the New filter tab is opened by default. Otherwise, the Saved filters tab is opened.
  3. To use a saved filter, select it from the Saved filters tab.
  4. To use a new filter, specify the required information on the New filter tab.
To save the filter for future use, click Save filter.
  5. Optionally, sort the results.

Sorting notifications

You can sort the notifications regardless of whether a filter or search is used or not.
  1. Open Notification Center.
  2. Click the Sorting icon.
You can select one of these options:
    • Newest: Sorts by the creation date, with the newest at the top.
    • Oldest: Sorts by the creation date, with the oldest at the top.
    • Urgency: Sorts by the urgency, with the highest priority at the top.
    • Due date: Sorts by the due date, with the shortest due date at the top. Overdue notifications are listed first.
