Notifications

You can see all your tasks, alerts, and messages in Notification Center. You can view them in three views, which differ in the level of detail and available actions.
This table shows notification types used in Notification Center:
Notification type Description
Alert An indication of an exception in an application workflow or business logic.

One alert can be sent to one or more users. Additionally, one user or each user can close the alert.

Task An activity that must be completed within a defined period of time.

One task can be sent to one or more users. Additionally, one user or each user can close a task.

Message An informational message.

You are not required to act on a message. You can read a message and then remove it from the view.

In Notification Center, you can see notifications in three views:

  • List: A list of items, each representing a single notification.
  • Preview: An expanded list item with additional information about a specific notification.
  • Detail view: Full detailed information about a specific notification. The detail view is typically displayed in full screen with various views therein.

Notification channels

Notifications from Notification Center can reach you through multiple channels, depending on the configuration of the originating application and which mobile applications you have installed.

You can receive notifications through:

  • Emails

    Emails are not sent by Notification Center, but the source application that generated the event. Emails typically contain the same essential information available in Notification Center and may include links to the item. You can manage email preferences in the originating application.

  • Mobile push notifications

    Push notifications are sent through Infor Go. Push notifications can include action buttons and links. Links open the item in the detail view in Notification Center in the mobile application. Push notifications support localization, time zone, and translation. See Notification Center on mobile devices.

Retention policy

Notification Center automatically removes old notifications after a defined retention period. This ensures the database remains performant and only relevant, recent items are stored. Retention applies to all notification types and follows different rules depending on whether the item is active or archived.

This table shows retention rules applied to active and archived notifications:

Active notifications Archived notifications
The retention countdown begins from the creation date. The retention countdown begins from the date the status changed to completed or canceled.
The default retention period is 30 days. In production environments, it is 365 days. The default retention period is 30 days. In production environments, it is 60 days.

Regardless of whether a notification is active or archived, it is removed from the Notification Center database after the retention period.

You cannot edit or override retention settings.
