ION Scripting

With ION Scripting, integration developers, administrators, and analysts write custom Python code as part of business process integrations.

These scripts can be used as a data transformation activity within an ION data flow. ION Scripting supports common integration scenarios.

Common use cases

  • Data object format conversion
  • Data mapping
  • Complex calculations and transformations
  • Simplified data manipulation orchestration

To access ION Scripting, expand the ION menu and select Scripting. Click the Scripts tab or the Libraries tab.

Navigating between Manage pages

When you navigate from one Manage page to another, the target page includes a Back button. Click Back to return to the previous page.

You can also use the browser Back button or use the menu through the hamburger icon.

Displaying large amounts of data

The Scripts and Libraries pages can display large amounts of data. These pages use pagination.

You can:

  • Navigate to the first, previous, next, or last page
  • Specify a page number
  • Change the number of objects displayed per page

The available page sizes are:

  • 5
  • 10
  • 25 (default)
  • 50
  • 100

To locate specific records, apply a filter where available to narrow the data set.

To select Scripts or Libraries in grid view, click the row check box or click the Select All check box. The selection applies only to objects visible on the current page. You cannot select multiple data objects across different pages.

The Overview preview page displays additional information such as document name, job name, Job ID, document confidence, pagination details, and the upload file option.
