Configuring reauthentication for workflow approvals

Use this topic to enable reauthentication for workflow tasks and task chains. Reauthentication requires approvers to reenter credentials before completing an approval or rejection.

Enabling reauthentication for a workflow task

Enable reauthentication for individual workflow tasks that require additional identity verification.

  1. Open the workflow configuration and select the task.
  2. In Task Properties, open the Actions tab and select Use custom action buttons to set parameter.

The Enable reauthentication option becomes available after you select this option.

  3. Select Enable reauthentication.

Enabling reauthentication for a task chain

Enable reauthentication at the task chain level to apply identity verification across multiple tasks.

  1. Open the workflow configuration, go to Task Chain Properties, and open the Approval Actions tab.
  2. Select Enable reauthentication.

Understanding approval behavior when reauthentication is enabled

When reauthentication is enabled, selecting Approve or Reject opens a separate browser window that prompts the approver to reenter their username and password.

If incorrect credentials are entered, the task remains open. The approver can retry until valid credentials are provided.

If the reauthentication window does not appear, the browser may be blocking additional windows.

Allow additional windows for the Infor CloudSuite domain used by your environment. For example, allow windows from *.inforcloudsuite.com.

Note:

The asterisk (*) in the example domain represents a wildcard. Replace the asterisk with the specific domain used by your environment. If you require assistance configuring your browser settings, contact your IT administrator.

If the reauthentication window still does not open, verify that browser extensions or security software are not preventing new windows from opening.

Understanding where reauthentication can be configured

Reauthentication can be enabled or disabled only in the workflow configuration. Centralized configuration ensures consistent setup.
