Approving a draft Symphony

Symphony execution uses the latest approved and active version. If a new version is approved while a Symphony is already running, the currently executing instances continue to use the version with which they were started. The newly approved version is used only for subsequent executions.

The version number used for each execution is displayed on the Executions and the Schedule pages.

If a Symphony has an approved version but has not been activated, it cannot be executed.

Note: Before approving a draft Symphony, ensure that these actions are performed:
  • You have the EO-MODELER security role.
  • The version is valid.
  • The version is saved.
  • All input variables are defined.
  • All validation errors are resolved.
  1. Go to Symphonies.
  2. Select the Symphony you want to modify.
  3. In the Versions tab, select the draft version.
  4. Validate the Symphony:
    • Ensure that required fields such as the name and input variables are complete.
    • Resolve all validation errors. For example, activity timeouts must not exceed the Symphony timeout.
  5. Click Save.
Tip: Saving does not approve the version. It remains in draft status until explicitly approved.

If a draft version existed, it is overwritten in this step.

  6. Click the Approve button (check mark icon).
If an Approved version already exists, the system automatically archives it.
  7. Activate the Symphony.
A Symphony must have an approved version and be in active state to be triggered. For more information, see Activating a Symphony.
