Attachment virus scanning and file upload validation

Both users and admins can manage attachments in the detail view:

  • Upload: Both can upload up to 5 files each per ticket, tracked separately. The maximum file size is 3 MB per file. Supported file types are DOCX, PDF, PNG, JPG, JPEG, SVG, and JSON.
  • Download: Both can download all files, including their own files and files uploaded by others.
  • Delete: Each can delete only their own files. They cannot delete files uploaded by others.
  • Lock state: Upload and delete are disabled once the status reaches Resolved, Reported to Infor, or any later status.

All files are virus-scanned before storage. Infected files are rejected.

Supported file types

  • .docx
  • .pdf
  • .png
  • .jpg
  • .jpeg
  • .svg
  • .json

Maximum file size: 3 MB per file.

Maximum files: 5 per ticket per uploader. Deleting a file frees up the slot.

File upload behavior

Note: While files are uploading, the Submit and Cancel buttons are disabled until all uploads complete or fail.

While a file is being uploaded in the detail page, the back navigation button (←) is disabled to prevent navigation away from an in-progress upload. It is re-enabled once the upload completes or fails.

If an upload or submission fails because of a network error or server issue, the overlay remains open. The user or admin can retry without re-filling the form. The overlay closes only after successful submission.

Error messages

  • File count exceeded: Maximum 5 files allowed. Please try again. This message is displayed when more than 5 files are selected at once or when an upload would cause the uploader to exceed the total limit of 5 files. The entire batch is canceled.
  • File size exceeded: X file(s) could not be uploaded as they exceed the 3 MB limit. Valid files are uploaded and oversized files are rejected.
  • Generic failure: Something went wrong. Please try again. This message is displayed for unsupported types, malicious or infected files, scanning failures, submission errors, or server issues.
