Viewing capacity usage
The toolbar shows current capacity usage against tenant limits based on this formula:
{activeCount}/{activeLimit} Active pipelines | {activeILCount}/{activeILLimit} Active initial loads
The displayed counts update in real time when pipelines are created, deleted, run, or stopped, and when initial loads start or complete.
Click the icon next to the inline capacity summary to view this detailed capacity information in a separate panel:
- Stream pipelines:
- Active: Current and maximum number of concurrently running pipelines.
- Total: Current and maximum number of pipelines across all statuses.
- Initial loads:
- Active: Current and maximum number of concurrently running initial loads.
- Queued: Number of initial loads in the queue.
The limits are applied per tenant.
To close the panel, click outside the panel or press Escape.
The data in the panel is refreshed each time you open the panel.
The icon indicates the current capacity status, such as:
- Normal (
): All metrics are below 90% of their limits.
- Warning (
): At least one metric reaches 90% of its limit.
- Error (
): At least one metric reaches 100% of its limit.
Capacity notification banners
Notification banners are displayed at the top of the Stream Pipelines overview page when pipeline capacity usage approaches or reaches the tenant limit. Banners apply only to pipeline metrics (active pipelines and total pipelines). Initial load metrics are informational only and don't result in notification banners.
A warning banner is displayed when a pipeline capacity metric reaches 90% of its limit. You can dismiss a warning banner. If the condition persists, the banner is displayed again after you reload the page or use navigation.
An error banner is displayed when a pipeline capacity metric reaches its limit (100%). You can't dismiss error banners. Error banners are removed automatically when usage falls below the limit, for example, after you stop or delete a pipeline.
Only one banner is displayed at a time. Error banners take precedence over warning banners.
- When the total pipeline limit is reached for your tenant, you can't create another pipeline. You must delete an existing pipeline to free total pipeline capacity.
- When the active pipeline limit is reached for your tenant, you can't start another pipeline. You must stop a currently running pipeline to free active pipeline capacity and then run another pipeline.
