Send Gmail Email

You can select this activity to send an email through the Gmail API or save the email as a draft.

This table lists the properties for the activity.

Email Message To InArgument<List<String>> The list of recipient email addresses. This field is mandatory.
Email Message CC InArgument<List<String>> The list of email addresses to copy on the email message.
Email Message BCC InArgument<List<String>> The list of email addresses to receive a blind copy of the email message.
Email Message Attachments InArgument<List<String>> The file paths of the attachments to include in the email message.
Email Message Is Body HTML Boolean Select True when the email body contains HTML content. Select False for plain text. The default value is set to False.
Email Message Save as draft Boolean Indicates whether to send the email message or save the email message as a draft.
Common Continue on error Boolean Select True to continue the workflow even if the activity fails. The default value is set to True.
Output Response code OutArgument<Int32> Response code for the activity.

Activity behavior

The behavior of the activity is based on the configured properties and the outcome of the Gmail API request.

  • Save as draft
    • When Save as draft is set to False and valid recipients are specified, the activity sends the email through the Gmail API.
    • When Save as draft is set to True, the activity creates an email draft in the Gmail Drafts folder.
  • Email body format
    • When Is Body HTML is set to True, the activity sends the email body as HTML content.
    • When Is Body HTML is set to False, the activity sends the email body as plain text.
  • Required recipient validation

    When the To property is empty, the activity displays the 'Value for a required activity argument To was not supplied' validation error.

  • Response codes
    • On successful execution, the Response code is 200.
    • When an error occurs, the Response code is 500.
