Configure how often the API request runs to retrieve data from the target API.

Specify the schedule used to execute the API request. The interval determines how often the API request is sent to retrieve data from the target API.

You can configure either:

A basic schedule that runs at a specified interval in seconds, minutes, hours, or days.
An advanced schedule based on a CRON expression.

Schedule considerations

ION API connection points are designed for reliable, scheduled data retrieval. Configuring very short execution intervals increases load on both the adapter runtime and the target API without providing true real-time integration.

Note:

Frequent polling can negatively affect overall system performance and increase load on external systems.

For integration scenarios that require data to be exchanged immediately when a business event occurs, consider using Infor Messaging Service (IMS) or ION Event Management instead of high-frequency scheduling.
