Overview

The Global Packages functionality allows for application content and configurations to be deployed onto a target tenant from Self-Service Portal. This guide goes over the details of how to be able to successfully deploy a Global Package with the Security content.

With global packages, the security authorization data and security configurations can be deployed into a tenant.

There is no change in the functionality of Security resources deployed to the target tenant through global packages.

Currently, the Security application only supports editable packages.

Editable packages

Editable packages help you to deploy packaged content to your tenant and then modify it to meet your specific business needs.

Unlike read-only packages, editable packages give you full control over the deployed content. You can update, extend, or tailor the resources after deployment without losing your customizations during future updates.

When a new version of an editable package is released, it is delivered alongside your existing setup. Therefore, you can review and adopt changes at your own pace, ensuring that your current configurations and enhancements remain intact.
