Editable Packages and the Dual-Instance Model
An editable global package helps applications to enable a dual-instance framework on the target tenant.
When the first version of a resource is deployed, the system creates two instances for each resource as shown in the table:

The live instance is what you work with day-to-day. You can modify its configuration fields (such as endpoint URLs, policies, and authentication settings), while certain content fields (such as resource names) remain fixed.
The reference template is a protected, read-only copy that reflects exactly what Infor delivered. You can view it for comparison purposes but cannot modify or delete it.
