Post-deployment tasks

There are tasks that must be completed after the global package has been deployed. This section describes these tasks.

Document Management does not have any post-deployment tasks.

Post-deployment UI behavior

For objects that are deployed through a Global Package, you can view available package versions directly from the object in the target tenant.

To access the available versions, click Versions from Global Package hyperlink on supported Global Package objects in the target tenant.

When you click Versions from Global Package, an overlay with a grid of available versions is displayed.

The grid shows the template version from the most recently deployed object version.

Within the overlay, select the version hyperlink to view the resource.

The reference tab opens a new portal tab to the right of the live object, allowing side-by-side comparison.

All navigation in the reference tab is blocked.

A banner is added to the IDM UI to notify the user that navigation is blocked and in a read-only state.

The live object remains unchanged and editable when object editing is supported.

To close the reference template view, select the Close (×) icon on the Portal tab.

Reviewing package versions helps you:

Understand the changes that the latest package version contains.
Review package-delivered content without changing the current configuration.
Compare the live object with the latest available package version before you apply updates.
