Viewing reference template updates for editable resources

After you deploy a new version of an editable global package, the template instance is updated with the latest content and the live instance remains unchanged.

Note: The template instance is read-only and cannot be modified. It serves as the reference for the latest delivered package version.

To view and compare the updated template with the live instance, perform these steps:

  1. In Data Fabric, navigate to the page to which the resource belongs.
  2. Select the resource.
  3. In the resource details view, click Versions from global package.
    The Versions from global package dialog box with both the live and reference (template) versions of the resource is displayed.
  4. To open the template version with the latest changes that were deployed to the tenant, click Reference.
    The reference copy is displayed on a new browser tab.
  5. Identify differences between the live and template instances, and determine the changes to apply manually to the live instance.
