Enterprise Connector communication flow

Understand how requests are routed between API Gateway, the Hybrid Service, and an on-premises target API.

Requests to an Enterprise Connector-enabled endpoint are processed as follows:

  1. An inbound request arrives at API Gateway and targets an Enterprise Connector-enabled endpoint.

  2. API Gateway routes the request to the Hybrid Service running in Enterprise Connector.

  3. The Hybrid Service forwards the request to the on-premises target API.

  4. The target API response is returned through the same path to the caller.
