Metadata Crawler wizard

Use the metadata crawler wizard to generate object metadata for tables, views, and materialized views stored in a database.

Before using the metadata crawler for your database entities, you must define a database connection point in ION. For information on how to create a connection point for a database, see the Infor OS User and Administration Library (Cloud) and select Administrator > ION Technology Connectors.

This table shows the flow of the metadata crawler wizard:

Step Page Information
1 Select Connection Point Select the database connection point you want to connect to.
2 Select Items to Register Select the tables, views, and materialized views you want to generate object metadata for.
3 Define Object Details Specify details for all objects to be registered in Data Catalog:
  • Specify an object name prefix for all objects.
  • Change object names.
  • Define additional metadata properties.
4 Review Objects Review the list of objects and their additional metadata property selections. Start the metadata generation process for the list of objects.
5 Summary A summary of the outcome of the metadata generation process.
