Routing

To use content-based routing:

  1. Click Connect > Data Flows.
  2. Select the data flow to add the content based routing to.
  3. Click Details to open the data flow modeler.
  4. Add a Routing activity to the flow.
  5. Right-click the diamond shape of the routing activity to add or remove normal branches and default branch. By default, a routing activity has two branches.
  6. Click the Attributes tab.
  7. Select the attributes that must be used in the filter.
    You can select the attributes in these ways:
    1. From document content.

      See Selecting attributes.

    2. From headers

      • Click + From Header.

      • Select Document or All documents.

      • Select header. When All documents is selected the Custom headers are not shown.

  8. Specify the conditions on the selected attributes.

  9. Click the Branches tab.
  10. Select branch.

    You can rename the branch if required.

    For each document select a defined condition or one of these options:

    • Send Never
    • Send Always
    After activating the flow, theION Service ensures that messages are filtered according to the specified conditions.
