Creating a location

To create a location:

  1. Select Connect > Enterprise Locations.
    A list of existing locations is displayed.
  2. Click Add.
    The Location details window is displayed.
  3. Specify Name and Description for the new Location and click OK. The Enterprise Connector Location - Credentials dialog box is displayed.
  4. Select the Authentication method:
    1. User: If you choose to use the one-step authentication method
    2. STS: If you choose to use the two-step authentication method, security token based. Introduced with ION CE 2025.04
  5. Click OK.
  6. If you have chosen User authentication, the Enterprise Connector Location - Credentials dialog box is displayed.

    Click Show Credentials. Then, right-click and copy and paste the Location ID and Location Secret Key.

    Alternatively, click Download Credentials to store the credentials in a csv-formatted file.
    You will use these credentials later in the on-premises-deployed Enterprise Connector service to start communication with ION CE.
  7. If you have chosen STS authentication, the Location details dialog is displayed.
    1. Take note of the API Gateway Authorized App Name. In API Gateway an Authorized application is created with this name.
    2. Click the link to Open the details of the created API Gateway Authorized App.
    3. In API Gateway - Authorized App, click Download Credentials.
    4. In the Download Credentials dialog, select Create Service Account .

      There is no need to associate a User.

    5. Click Download to download the Authorized Application credentials.
    6. Click the browser Back button to go back to the ION Enterprise Location screen.
  8. Click Close to return to the list. The location is now created. The Connection Status, Version, and Host fields are still blank.

You can use the IMPORT AND TRUST CERTIFICATE button to upload certificates that must be trusted by your Enterprise Connectors. This trust store is shared over all deployed Enterprise Connectors.
