Dynamic workspaces

With dynamic workspaces, administrators and content administrators can use one workspace for various users. The format and content of the dynamic workspace can vary depending on the user and its role. For example, the title, workspace color, and set of widgets can be different.

A dynamic workspace features a header and several components:

  • The header contains the title and the color of the workspace.
  • A component is similar to a widget and can include various types of content, such as links, images, and user information.

You can configure dynamic workspaces to show a subset of the content, based on user properties, roles and functional security roles as defined within the security policy. You can filter the content by security policy at the component level and within the component.

To create, display, or update existing dynamic workspaces an administrator or content administrator can visit Workspaces > Dynamic Workspaces.

Permissions

Access to a dynamic workspace content can limited by security policies that are managed within Infor OS Portal administration. The security policy outlines rules for a specific group of users based on these attributes:

  • Their IFS security roles
  • User properties

User properties can be configured in OS > Security > Metadata > User Properties in the Additional Properties tab.

Only administrators can create and edit the security policies. Content administrators can only view, test and select security policies to assign to a dynamic workspace.

All authorized users can view dynamic workspaces to which they have access. However, only users with these security roles have permissions to create and configure dynamic workspaces:

  • PORTAL-ContentAdministrator
  • MingleAdministrator
  • Infor-SystemAdministrator

Limitations

Widget configuration isn't supported on a dynamic workspace. Therefore, you can only add a pre-published widget or a standard widget, which functions without additional setup.

You can create up to 100 dynamic workspaces.
