App authentication type

The administrator can manage the security of the app by configuring the authentication type. By default, the User PIN or Device Authentication option is selected.

To configure this setting, the administrator can choose one of these options:

  • User PIN or Device Authentication
    • When this option is selected, the user sees the App Security page upon logging into the app.
    • The user must choose between User PIN or Device Authentication, and the app security is controlled based on the selected option.
  • User PIN
    • When this option is selected, the user is directed to the Set PIN page upon logging into the app.
    • The user must set a 4-digit PIN which is used for app security.
    • After logging in, the user can navigate to App Settings in the Profile section where the Change PIN option is available to reset the PIN if needed.
  • Device Authentication
    • When this option is selected, the user is required to authenticate using the biometric or password set for the device upon logging into the app.

The above authentication type changes apply only for new sessions.

Administrators have the option to save the user PIN within the app. This feature is applicable only when the User PIN authentication method is selected. When enabled through the web interface, users are not required to set a PIN each time they log in to the app for this tenant. To configure this setting, select the Save user PIN option under the User PIN section and save the changes.
