Functional Security Role

A functional security role is a group of security roles that provide one or more users with the range of permissions required to perform their functional roles.

The Functional Security Role page displays all of the function security roles in your system. As tenant administrator, you can define and maintain functional security roles from this page and maintain user assignments to the roles.

You can add and remove security roles from the functional security role at any time. Permissions for all users associated with the functional security role are updated accordingly. The removal of a functional security role from a user removes the association of all the security roles within the functional security role unless the security roles are associated with the user by other means.

In addition to the Configure > Functional Security Role page, you can manage user assignments to functional security roles from these locations:

  • The User Detail page available from Manage > Users.
  • The SCIM Groups page available from Manage > SCIM Groups. When added to or removed from an SCIM group, a user is added to or removed from the functional security role associated with the SCIM group.

You can also associate Infor OS Portal content with a functional security role to manage user access to the content and the ability to export the content to other tenants.

Note: Functional security roles can also be created in the IFS registry. Outside of the IFS registry, users can be added to or removed from these functional security roles. All other changes to these functional security roles must be done through the IFS registry.
