System Administrator

For an ERP System Administrator, the main priority is to ensure that the software is configured and working appropriately for the end users across different business areas. The System Administrator ensures that the ERP has all the required updates and patches. The Administrator also works with the ERP vendor for the required enhancements or configurations. Users approach the System Administrator for technical support in case of issues that cannot be troubleshooted. These are routed to the appropriate team or to the vendor, by the administrator. A System Administrator spends about 80% of the time on support work and 20% on updates, projects, documentation, and training. Occasionally, the Administrator reviews internal proposals for system changes or customizations and negotiates new contracts/agreements, if required.
