Start Workflows widget

You can add the Start Workflows widget from the Widget Catalog.

Use this widget to start workflows, see their status, and optionally cancel them.

You can start only those workflows for which you have a workflow authorization of type START. Workflow definitions and workflow authorizations are created and managed in ION Desk. See the Infor ION Desk User Guide for details.

After you start a workflow, the list view of the Start Workflows widget displays an entry for it. You can monitor the progress of the workflow with the Workflow Viewer widget, or you can cancel the workflow instance.

These features are available from the list view:

  • Start a new workflow instance. Select the name of the workflow to start, provide values for the input parameters, and optionally add attachments before starting the workflow.
  • Search for a string contained in the workflow instance name.
  • Filter the list to show only the workflows with one of the statuses: Running, Completed, Canceled, or Failed.
  • Select multiple workflow instances that have a Running status and cancel them. The workflow instance, including its open tasks and notifications, is canceled.
  • Select multiple workflow instances that have a Completed, Canceled, or Failed status and remove them from view.
  • For each item in the list, you can:
    • Hover over the workflow instance name to see the workflow description.
    • Hover over the workflow icon to see the workflow definition name and workflow ID.
    • Click the workflow instance item in the list to open the workflow overlay dialog.
    • Hover over the workflow instance row in the list to see item specific actions. Click the actionable icons to take an action. These actions are available:
      • Cancel, if the workflow is running
      • Remove, if the workflow is completed, canceled, or failed
      • Show in Workflow Viewer/Hide in Workflow Viewer to see or hide the corresponding workflow status diagram in the Workflow Viewer widget

These features are available in the workflow overlay dialog:

  • View workflow details, including workflow parameters and attachments.
  • Depending on the workflow status, cancel or remove the current workflow instance.
