Task Watcher widget

You can add the Task Watcher widget from the Widget Catalog. Use the Task Watcher widget to search and view tasks from workflows that you are authorized to watch.

Workflow definitions and workflow authorizations are created and managed in ION Desk. See the ION Desk User Guide for details.

When a Task Watcher widget is published, you must enable settings to store the search field and the search query used. When these settings are not enabled, the Task Watcher search query must be defined each time the page is reloaded. To enable settings while publishing a widget, select these options in the Settings tab of the Edit Publishing Configuration dialog:

  • Select the Enable Settings check box.
  • For the Store Search Field setting, select the Enabled check box.
  • For the Store Search Query setting, select the Enabled check box.

When you add the Task Watcher widget to an Infor OS Portal workspace for the first time, you must define a search query. These search options are available:

Workflow Name
Displays a list of workflow names that you are authorized to watch
Workflow Start Time
All, Today, Last 2 days, Last 7 days, Last 30 days
Workflow Status
Running, Completed

The search query runs for a maximum 120 seconds and returns a maximum of 200 results. After the search query has been run, a list of tasks is displayed. You must click Refresh to run the query again later. Hover over the filter icon to see a summary of the current search query.

Tasks with all statuses are shown as read-only, and no actions are available to alter the task status or distribution.

These features are available from the list view:

  • Search for a string contained in the task message.
  • For each item, you can:
    • Click the workflow icon to show or hide the corresponding workflow status diagram in the Workflow Viewer widget.
    • Click the task item in the list to open the task details overlay panel.

On the task details overlay panel, you can view task details in read-only mode:

  • Task message and status information
  • You can share the task message to the Infor OS Portal feed by clicking Share. This button is enabled only if you are part of the task distribution list.
  • Drillbacks
  • Parameters
  • Distribution users
  • Attachments
  • Workflow progress indicator
  • Notes

On the Configure Widget overlay panel, you can enable or disable the display of the workflow progress indicator on the task overlay panel.

Note: This widget sends IBC messages for communication with other Infor OS Portal workspace widgets. These messages are for internal use only and their contents may change between versions.
