Downloading data objects

You can download and save data objects as local files on your machine even though, in Data Lake, the data objects do not contain a file name and file extension.

For offline usability, they are given a file name and file extension that matches the metadata. The file name is set from the Object ID and the file extension matches the Object Type.

This is an example file name for a JSON data object:

1-4c4d29ec-d9ad-3247-abd9-1e0b703cd130.json

The data objects are provided in a compressed ZIP file. The generated ZIP file name contains the Object Name and the download timestamp. The download timestamp is in UTC ISO 8601 format.

This is an example ZIP file name:

Atlas_EmployeesObject_2020-1004T23_49_07.385Z.zip
Note: Downloading data objects in Atlas is subject to Data Egress metering. See the Infor OS Service Limits.
