Using Infor ION

The data can also be ingested into Data Lake with Data Lake flows or data loaders.

These methods are typically used when an application cannot adopt direct ingestion through the Batch ingestion API. Examples are third-party applications, legacy applications or other applications that are difficult to update.

In ION, various options are available to connect to data sources, such as a Database Connector, a File Connector, and an API Connector. The retrieved data can be sent to the Data Lake by modeling a Data Lake flow.

For more information about modeling Data Lake flows, see the Infor ION Desk User Guide.

For more information about using various technology connectors, such as the File Connector or the Database Connector, see the Infor ION Technology Connectors Administration Guide.

For more information about using the IMS API to publish data through ION, see the Infor ION Development Guide.

When the source data is in a database, a data loader can be used instead of a Data Lake flow. Data loaders are used in combination with the metadata crawler of the Data Catalog.

For more information about using the metadata crawler and data loaders, see the Infor ION Desk User Guide.
