Defining custom master data structures

  1. Select Document > Custom Master Data.
  2. Click Add.
  3. Specify this information:
    Name
    Specify a unique name that identifies the custom master data. Valid characters are a-z, A-Z, and 0-9. The first character should be an uppercase letter. The maximum length is 15 characters.
    Parent
    Leave this blank.

  4. Click Save.
    The new custom master data record is displayed.
  5. Click the Attributes hyperlink of the newly created record.
  6. Specify at least one attribute of the custom master data.
  7. Click Add.
  8. Specify this information:
    Name
    Specify a unique name that identifies the attribute. Valid characters are a-z, A-Z, and 0-9. The first character should be a lowercase letter.The maximum length is 15 characters.
    Description
    Specify the description of the attribute.
    Data Type
    Select the data type of the attribute. Possible values are:
    • Alphanumeric - contains letters, numbers, and other characters.
    • Number - contains numbers.
    • Date - contains a date and time value.
    Reference Attribute
    Leave this unselected.

    Primary Key
    Select the check box if the attribute is a unique identifier of the custom master data table.
  9. Click Save.
    The new attribute is displayed.
