In-Application engagements
In-Application engagements deliver contextual guides, announcements, surveys, and tooltips directly within FSM. These engagements help users discover features, complete required actions, and provide feedback within the workflow.
In-application engagements are lightweight messages and experiences that appear within the product user interface. These messages are not broadcast to all users. Each engagement is configured with targeting rules that determine which users can view specific engagements. Messages are shown based on the role of the user, entitlements, current page, or actions, and are designed to inform, guide, or collect feedback in context.
Engagement types
The in-application engagements include these types:
- Announcements or banners that communicate releases, incidents, and time-sensitive updates
- Modals or lightboxes that present high-visibitlity prompts for new capabilities or critical actions
- Guided tours and walkthroughs that provide step-by-step overlays that support feature discovery and onboarding
- Tooltips and hotspots that display contextual explanations of user interface elements without interrupting workflow
- Surveys or polls that collect feedback through single-question or short surveys that appear after specific actions or tasks
