Creating a new MSCM Label Format

  1. Open the MS Word application.
  2. Select the Infor MSCM-L Label Editor tab from the menu toolbar.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. Specify the server URL and click Connect.
    Note: The URL for Customize Label Add-in is found in the URL tab of Desktop and Mobile Application page. Optionally, you can follow this format: http://WebServerName. For example, https://adm-d820gpo-ax1.tam.dev.inforcloudsuite.com.
  5. Specify the username and password and click Sign in.
    Note: 
    • A user with the Application Administrator profile is enabled to access the add-in.
    • Upon confirming the closing of unsaved documents, the default label format size and the DPI values are automatically populated. The edit area is also adjusted according to the default label size.
  6. Click the Create button and confirm creation of new label format.
  7. Specify the desired label type. The related DB fields that can be selected for this label are displayed.
  8. Specify the label size and DPI if the desired values are different than the default.
  9. Click Barcode and select a barcode type. The available barcodes are linear (1D), data matrix (2D), and QR (2D) code.
  10. Select the barcode content. For the content, you can select a field from the related business classes or from the pre-defined MSCM handheld barcode content.
    Note: The MSCM HH barcode content consists of a prefix and data. For example, location ID, item ID, etc. The content also depends on the label type which is used in MSCM transactions in the handheld device.
  11. Click Add Barcode.
  12. Click Label Fields to display the list of related fields according the selected label type.
    Click the Expand button (+) to show all the available fields.
  13. Select and drag the desired field into the label edit area to display the field. You can move the selected fields within the label area by dragging a field or use the arrow keys.
    Note: 
    • When you drag and drop fields to the label editing area, the fields are displayed in the same location. Select and drag the field to separate and move them to a different location within the label.
    • To adjust the size and format of the label font, highlight the field and use the font options of the MS Word application.
    • To add text labels for the fields, select Add text in the label field. Specify the value for the field and click Add text to preview the label.
  14. Optionally, click any of these options to add elements in the label format:
    • Click Box and Lines to place borders and lines.
    • Click Image to search, select, and display bitmap files in the label format.
  15. In Preview and Upload, click Generate ZPL to create a ZPL code for the label format.
    Note: If you are creating a label format for the first time, Preview and Upload will automatically generate a ZPL code. If further changes are made in the template after the initial format, click Generate ZPL to update the ZPL code accordingly.
  16. Click Preview to verify the label format.
  17. Specify the filename for the label format.
  18. Click Upload. When confirmed, the label format is saved in the server and are available in the selection of label formats in Mobile Supply Chain > Administrative Setup > Labels > Print Labels.
    Note: You can still update the label format prior to uploading. Ensure that you click Generate ZPL to update the ZPL code accordingly. Then click Upload to save and upload the latest label format.
