Adding printers

  1. Select Application Administration > Supply Management > Mobile Supply Chain.
  2. On the General panel, click Printers.
  3. Click Create.
  4. Specify this information:
    Mobile Supply Chain Printer
    Specify the name of the printer you are adding. This is a required field.
    Printer Type
    Select the type of printer that you want to add.

    Select Report to add a printer that prints documents on the standard 8.5 x 11 inch paper stock.

    Select Labelto add a specialized printer for labels that use a language to describe the layout of information on a label.

    Note: You must configure the Main tab depending on the Printer Type that you selected.
  5. Configure the Main tab.
    1. If you selected a Report printer type, specify this information:
      Hostname
      Specify the network name or IP address of the printer. This is a required field.
      Note: Add the printer to your local machine to use the network name of the printer. Otherwise, use the IP address.
      Retry Timeout
      Specify the number of seconds that you want the label printer to wait before trying to print after an error. Default value is blank.
      Mobile checkbox
      Select the check box if the report printer is a mobile printer.
    2. If you selected a Label printer type, specify this information:
      Hostname
      Specify the network name or IP address of the printer. This is a required field.
      Note: Add the printer to your local machine to use the network name of the printer. Otherwise, use the IP address.
      Retry Timeout
      Specify the number of seconds that you want the label printer to wait before trying to print after an error. Default value is blank.
      LPR Server
      Specify the server your laser printer is connected to.
      Language
      Specify the name of the proprietary language the label printer uses to determine the layout of text on the label. Default is ZPL2.
      Note: You may also add Intermec printers. See Configure an Intermec Printer (Honeywell PC45d).
      Port
      Specify the port that the label printer is connected to. Default is 9100.
      Max Retries
      Specify the number of times that you want the label printer to retry printing if there is an error.
      Protocol
      Select the printing protocol your system uses for label printers. Options are FTP, LPR, and RAWSOCKET. Default is RAWSOCKET.
  6. Configure the Map To Companies tab.
    Click Create and specify this information:
    Company
    Specify or select a company.
    Default
    Select this option to set the selected printer as the default for the company.
    Note: The Override Default if Existing check box will display to give users an option if they want to override the existing default printer of the company.
  7. Configure the Map To Locations tab.
    1. Click Assign Location.
    2. Select a location and click Attach Printer. A confirmation message is displayed.
    3. Click Close.
  8. Configure the Map To Resource Access tab.
    1. Click Create and specify this information:
      Resource ID
      Specify or select a resource ID.
      Company
      Specify of select a company.
      Location
      Specify or select a location.
  9. Click Save.
