Running the totals to transaction verification report

The Totals to Transactions Verification Report is a data integrity tool within the Global Ledger module. It helps identify any differences between summarized balances or totals and the underlying transactions that make up those totals.

This report checks whether your totals match the underlying transactions without making any changes. It first clears any previous report results, then recalculates the expected totals and compares them with the existing totals. If everything matches, the report shows a message indicating no differences. If there are any mismatches, they will be listed in the report for your review.

Caution: Ensure that no Posting, Revaluation, Translation or Year-End Closings are running while this process is running.

This is critical because concurrent posting activity would produce false differences.

This report also acts as a preview of the Rebuild Totals process. If it identifies any differences, you can then run the actual Rebuild Totals process to fix them. It allows you to confirm that an issue exists before making any changes to your data.
