Creating quick changes on budget scenarios

  1. Select Budgeting > Budget Scenarios.
  2. Select a budget scenario and select Quick Change.
  3. Specify this information:
    Description
    Specify a description for the change request.
    Amount
    If Balanced Amount Changes is selected in the scenario, then any changes to the amounts must be balanced. The change requests cannot be released until the amounts are balanced.
    Currency
    Specify the currency.
    Units Amount
    If Balanced Unit Changes is selected in the scenario, then any changes to the units must be balanced. The change requests cannot be released until the units are balanced.
  4. To change the budget amount, specify the value in the To Adjustment or From Adjustment sections. To only increase the budget amount, specify the To Adjustment section. To only decrease the budget amount, specify the From Adjustment section.
  5. To create a balanced budget change, specify values in the From Adjustment and To Adjustment.
    1. If a dimension in the To Adjustment is the same as the From Adjustment, you can leave it blank. When blank, the From Adjustment value is used.
    2. In the To Adjustment, a check box Is Blank is available for an optional dimension. If the check box is selected, the value of the optional dimension is cleared instead of using the value in From Adjustment. If the check box is not selected, the value of the optional dimension is the From Adjustment value.

    A balanced budget change is created if the From Adjustment is specified and one of the dimensions or check boxes is specified in the To Adjustment.

  6. Click Submit.
  7. Click OK to create and release the Change Request.
  8. Click Cancel to cancel the submission.
  9. Select the Change Requests tab to view the change request record.
    1. If approval is enabled for the budget scenario, the change request status is Pending Approval. When the approval is complete, the status is released.
    2. If approval is not enabled, the change request is automatically released and the status is released.
  10. After the change request is released, the corresponding budget line is added. Click the Data tab to view the added budget line.
  11. Select the Change Detail History tab to view all of the change request lines that are released.
