Methods to change costs on contracts

You can change costs on contracts in these ways:

  • Update the base cost from contract import records.

    Load or update contract import records from pricing files in Microsoft Excel and update the contracts.

  • Run the Update Cost By A Percent action.
  • Specify a new base cost in the Base Cost field on the contract line.

Additional methods to change costs on manufacturer contracts

This list shows the ways you can change costs on manufacturer contracts:

Note: Changes to base cost on a manufacturer's contract are only reflected on associated distributor contracts if you perform an additional action. On the manufacturer contract, run Update Distributor Contract.
  • Run the Update Current Net And Default Buy Cost action.

    You only use this method for situations where the calculated manufacturer's net cost is incorrect.

  • Change the values for Tier, Tier Price, or Tier Freight Factor on the Tiers tab of the contract.
  • Change the value in the Tier Price on the contract by specifying the Type, Cost, and Percent fields in the Tier Price section of the contract tier.

    Indicate that a particular location has moved into a different price bracket by changing the tier associated with a member on the contract header.

    Changes that are made to tiers on the manufacturer contract are reflected immediately on associated distributor contracts.

  • Change the Contract Tier definition on the contract by selecting the Tiers tab. Open the Contract Tier page.

    When a manufacturer changes the discount terms of a contract, change the definition of a tier.

Additional methods to change costs on distributor contracts

This list shows the ways you can change costs on distributor contracts:

  • Run the Update Current Net And Default Buy Cost action.

    You only use this method for situations where the calculated distributor's net cost is incorrect.

  • Change the value for Pricing Identifier, Distributor Price, or Freight Factor on the Pricing Identifiers tab of the contract.
  • Change the value on a participating contract member on the Members tab. Change the Pricing Identifier value for that member.

    Indicate a particular location has moved into a different price bracket with the distributor by changing the pricing identifier associated with a member on the contract header.

  • Change the Contract Distributor Pricing definition on the contract on the Pricing Identifiers tab. Select Actions > Update.

    When a distributor changes the markup for freight on a contract, change the definition of a pricing identifier.
