Viewing budget edit batches
The Budget Edit Batch list provides visibility into all budget edit transactions that have been queued, are currently processing, or have completed. Each budget edit batch record represents a single originating document, such as a journal, purchase order, requisition, or invoice, and shows its current processing state. Use this list to monitor which transactions are waiting to be processed, have completed successfully, and have encountered errors.
- Select Global Ledger > Budgeting.
- Click the Edit Batch tab.
- The Budget Edit Batch list is displayed with these columns:
Column Description Document ID Unique identifier of the originating transaction. A red alert indicates an error. Hover to see the message. Business Class Name The business class that triggered the budget edit, indicating the transaction type. For example, PurchaseOrder, GeneralLedgerJournalControl, Requisition, or PayablesInvoice. Edit Context Additional context about the originating document. Finance Enterprise Group The FEG the transaction belongs to. Budget Edit Mode Specifies how the budget edit is processed: - The Update Only mode updates obligation totals without performing budget validation.
- The Test mode performs budget validation but does not update obligation totals.
- The Soft mode performs budget validation and updates obligation totals even when the budget is exceeded.
- The Hard mode performs budget validation and updates obligation totals only when sufficient budget is available.
Totals Processing Defines how obligations are updated after a successful budget edit: - Purge deletes obligations.
- Reverse reverses obligations.
- Do Nothing keeps obligations unchanged.
Action Code The action that triggered the budget edit. For example, Release, Delete. Create Time When the batch record was created. Start Time When processing began. Blank if not yet started. Completion Time When processing finished. Blank if still pending. Error Message Error details if the record could not be processed. See Running process batch edits manually. - Use the Create Time, Start Time, and Completion Time to determine the current state of each record:
State How to Identify Queued (waiting) The Create Time field is populated, and the Start Time and Completion Time fields are blank. In progress The Start Time field is populated, the Completion Time field is blank, and no error message is displayed. Completed successfully The Completion Time field is populated. Blocked The Start Time field is populated, the Completion Time field is blank, and an error message is present. - To delete completed records, see Pruning budget edit batch records.
