Entity System Control integrating with Close Management

Entity System Control can be integrated with Close Management.

This integration enables organizations to track subsystem close status directly from Close Management and reduces the need for manual updates. Supported subsystem system codes are Global Ledger (GL), Project Ledger (PS), Cost Allocation (CA), and Recurring Journal (RJ).

If a system control exists for another system code, the Close Task field is unavailable, and a close task cannot be assigned through Entity System Control. Use Company System Closing Control instead.

Calendar

Before integrating Entity System Control with Close Management, ensure that the calendar setup is consistent. The period frequency defined in Close Configuration must match the period frequency used in Close Management.

Linking Entity System Control to a Close Task

A Close Task field is available in Entity System Control after the system control record is saved to associate a subsystem closing process with a Close Management task. A Close Task can be linked to one or more System Codes.

When selecting a close task, only close period tasks that is Open for work in Close Management and be in a Scheduled or In Process status are available for selection.

Note: Entity System Control supports close task associations only for the GL, PS, CA, and RJ system codes. For other system codes, associate close tasks through Company System Closing Control.
For a Close Period, process to run successfully, the assigned task must meet these scenarios:
  • The assigned task must be scheduled and open for work in the same period on the Close Management side.
  • If the close task is already open and scheduled, a process owner is required. The process cannot run if the assigned close task does not have an owner.
