Par transfer transaction
The par transfer transaction enables healthcare organizations to transfer items between Par locations in a single-step process with automatic financial accounting and global ledger posting.
For example, a situation where a nursing unit needs an item immediately, but doesn't have sufficient stock. The nurse retrieves and physically moves the required dressing kits from the source par location to the requesting location of the nursing unit. The nurse creates a Par Transfer transaction to track the movement of this item within the system. The source location is credited, the destination location is charged for the item, and the transaction is posted automatically to the global ledger.
As a result, the nursing unit receives the supplies it needs without waiting for the regular replenishment cycle, while the organization maintains an auditable record of the inventory movement and the related financial accounting.
