Export a single report to multiple tenants

Application Administrators can export a report from one source tenant and import it into a different target tenant.
Caution: Before exporting and importing a report, confirm that both the source and target tenants are on the same software release version. If they are not, the import process will fail.

Exporting a report from the source tenant

  1. In the tenant the report is to be exported from, select Global Ledger > Analysis > Main.
  2. On the Report Designer panel, click Go To Designer.
  3. Select the Export Report tab.
  4. Click Export Report and a Create Report Export form is displayed.
  5. Select these options:
    • Select the Date.
    • Select the GL Report.
    • Select the Report Description. A description will default. This field is optional and can be edited.
  6. Click Submit. When completed, the export file has been created.
  7. Click Notifications, then double-click the report that was just exported. This action generates the ZIP file required for importing into the other tenant.
  8. Navigate back into the GL Report Designer and select the Export Report tab, locate the report selected for export and review the available log:

If a Run Time Log is available, click the log to view the notification confirming the export completed successfully.

If errors occur during the export, an Error Log file will be available. Open the file to review the specific errors encountered.

Importing the exported report into the target tenant

  1. In the tenant the report is to be imported into, select Global Ledger > Analysis > Main.
  2. On the Report Designer panel, click Go To Designer.
Note: If the report already exists in the target tenant and is locked, manually unlock the report to avoid errors.
  3. Select the Import Report tab.
  4. Select Import Report. An Import Report form is displayed.
  5. Select these options:
    • Select the Date
    • Select the Zip file. Select the downloaded export zip file from the source tenant.
    • Select the Report Title. You can edit the report title if necessary.
    • Select the Report Description. A description will default. This field is optional and can be edited.
  6. Click Submit. The report is imported when the process completes.
  7. In the Import Report tab, locate the report selected for import and review the available log:
If a Run Time Log is available, click the log to view the notification confirming the import completed successfully.

If errors occur during the import, an Error Log file will be available. Open the file to review the specific errors encountered.

  8. If errors occurred, or if the original report needs to be restored in the import tenant, double click the imported report in the GL Report Imports section. Select the Report Backup hyperlink file and download it.
  9. To restore the original report, follow the same steps for importing a report in the Import Report tab. The imported report will be replaced with the original report from the backup zip file during the import process.
  10. Re-lock the imported report if needed. The user must manually lock it again if it is needed to be in a locked state.
  11. Regenerate the imported report after the import is complete. Imported reports will display an Out of Sync status, which means the report must be generated before it is ready for use.
Note: Errors occur when the two source and target tenants do not have the same software version. All reports will be unlocked after the import. Users will need to go into the newly imported reports and lock them if necessary. All imported reports will need to be generated.
