Creating contract proposal templates

When a contract proposal template is used, the fields in the proposed contract are populated with the information from the template, including any questions and articles. To require the use of contract proposal templates, the Require A Template To Be Selected When Requester Creates A Contract Proposal must be selected in the contract group.

  1. Select Contracts > Processing And Reporting.
  2. On the Proposed Contracts pane, click Proposal Templates.
  3. Click Create Contract Proposal Template.
  4. Specify this information:
    Contract Group
    Select the contract group.
    Name
    Specify the title or identifier of the contract template.
    Supplier
    Select the supplier or vendor associated with the contract.
    Supplier Contact
    Select the primary contact person of the supplier organization.
    Primary Internal Contact
    Select the main internal stakeholder responsible for the contract.
    Description
    Provide a description of the contract template.
    Contract Type
    Select the contract type for the proposed contract.
    Contract Subtype
    Select a subtype of the main contract type.
    Contract Classification
    Select the contract classification for the proposed contract..
    Contract Subclassification
    Select a subclassification of the main contract classification.
    Document Template
    Select the file of the contract document template that is used to generate the contract proposal.
    Account
    Select the financial or organizational account structure for the proposed contract.
  5. If the Supplier is a vendor, select the Vendor Location or the Purchase From Location.
  6. Click Save.
  7. On the Questions tab, create questions to attach to proposed contracts that use the template.
  8. On the Articles tab, add or create articles to attach to proposed contracts that use the template.
  9. Click Save.
